About the Founder

Who I am:
I am a reading specialist and dyslexia practitioner with a background as an ESL and Montessori teacher.
What I do:
I help students improve their literacy skills, overcome reading challenges, and build reading confidence.
How I do it:
I diagnose what students are struggling with in reading, and craft targeted intervention plans that build skills in decoding, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
My journey to becoming a reading specialist
I left architecture to become a Montessori teacher when my son started going to a Montessori school. I fell in love with the whole-child approach that dovetailed building confidence and individualized instruction.
I eventually made my way to becoming an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, determined to support multi-lingual learners whose families were relocating to the US to seek a better future for their children. As an ESL teacher, I became more involved with students with different learning styles, and developed a deep interest in how we teach reading.
Finally, I pursued an Educational Specialist degree in Reading and obtained my certification as a dyslexia practitioner. Now I want to bring this expertise to Bahrain and support struggling readers around the island!
